You must be a GAV member to play . Its $15 online or $ 20 at event. You can register for tournament beofore you become a member . Hey everyone sorry bout this weekend, something came up and i will not be in town. The sand tournaments are cancelled. I will be teaming up with fred to help throw Bad Ass Grass. Yes that right GAV will be going grass. We will be giving out great prizes, and having alot of fun. Bad Ass Grass is a very fun, cool down from the summer, its been around for a very long time and we would love to make it bigger and strong then the year prior. So hope to see you on the court!!

Hey everyone

So as your can see we changed co-ed sand to reverse co-ed sand . If you never played before here are the rules.

All play will be on a women’s height net
Men can only attack a ball that is completely above the height of the net if their feet leave the ground behind the 10-foot line .
If men attack the ball from in front of the 10-foot line, some part of the ball must be below the top of the net
No open-handed tips
Sets made to the opponent’s court, on the first or second contact, must be made with shoulders square and facing the target.
Men may only soft block - they cannot jump, the ball must come to your side, and it counts as the first contact
Serves may touch the net, as long as they continue on to the opponent’s side
Feet (kicking the ball) may legally contact the ball
General volleyball rules apply (netting, lifts, doubles etc

Hey everyone,

So I'd Like to thank everyone for their support and showing up this past weekend. It was another hot day, temperature reaching 101 degrees. We had a total of 8 teams show up at sneakerz. It was a great day to play and was a lot fun. Great matches all day, with some new young faces coming out and some surprises through out the day. With Adam and Ruskin coming out on top . Its coming to the end of the season for volleyball with aspen around the corner. Well NMSVA has there next torunament on Aug 15 ( same sex) and 16 ( reverse Co-de). I know what your thinking, reverse co-ed in the sand? It is true we will be doing reverse co-ed guess you'll just have to show up and play to see how it works. To sign up shoot me and email or text.

Hey everyone,

Well I figure after what Adam said I better start keeping up with this. First thing first the woman’s tournament was a tournament full of talent. With Amy Wong and Nicole coming out on top. The men joined in on the fun at Lucky’s and had their own little tournament. It was a very hot day hitting the 100 degree mark. The woman finished up early and the men finished up around 7 p.m. The next woman’s tournament will be at the end of the month hoping we get a bigger turnout. Our next means tournament is in the middle of august. If your don’t see your results posted on the GAV site it’s because I’m having trouble logining in. I and Wayne are working on that as we speak. We are putting together a King of the beach league and Queen of the beach league starting in Later July. You can send me an email if you are interested in playing or information. There is a Sneaker’s s and series this weekend starting at 9. Check in will be 8:30 . I also like to present ON FIRE a GAV event. This is a woman's event and will be held at lucky's. First id like to thank everyone for being patient with me and the website. Ive been working on the Gav site and getting everyone up there and there points going. Its 90 percent done. The First AVA Indoor Tournament..

Hey Everyone we finally got a date set for the first indoor tourney of the year. Its going to be your first AVA ( Albuquerque Volleyball Association ) Tournament. Our web page will be up soon . With That you can see players and find partners for tournaments. More details to come. Anyways this is a men's sixs tournament. It will be held at West Mesa gym. Were cutting it off At 12 teams right now but May open it up for more. The cost is 120 dollars a team or 20 dollars a person. It be a round robin tournament. Cash prize depends on how many teams we get but we Are shooting for $ 500 dollar cash prize.

Hey everyone one it looks like the season has started and its come early this year. It looks like our first official tournament that well all be heading out to is the AZ "Vote for Volley " tournament. There will be some good players out there from what I've been readying from open rated players to triple A rated players. For the off season I've worked out and been getting mentally ready for this year. That's my biggest problem and i am know past it. This year should be a good year for Albuquerque. Our group that travels has been working hard and we got players from BB to Open. SO soon as i hear back from the tournament director i should let u know whats going on.

The New Years king of the grass

I know what your thinking . Its middle of the winter and its to cold and early to be playing grass volleyball. It was a perfect day to play outside and why pass it up . We use every chance we can to play volleyball here in new mexico. So the tournament start at noon and went to bout 5 ish. We had 14 players and lots of fun. The Final four came down to myself, mike, jake, brad. They were all really great games and the first round i played with brad vs jake and mike . we beat them 15-13. the next match was me and mike vs brad and jake, another close game but me and mike beat them 15-12 and for the final match i played with jake and mike and brad played together the score was 15-10. So i finish as king of the grass and jake took second then mike then brad. Its was great day and just can't wait for more to come

Las Cruces Indoor tournament

Hey everyone sorry i've took so long to up date the web site.. Its been a long off season lot of moves happening. So the last tournament we played in was a las cruces indoor tournament. It was a great tournament and there were ten team that played down there. The teams include the unm club team , both tribes , derrick redders team, my team , and 5 other teams that came from other places. The day started early and we struggled at first but aftter everything said and done in pool play we came out the number one over all seed. The first team we palyed in tournament was a local team and was a great match but in the end we were to much and played great as a team. Then the next team we play was the las cruces volleyball team . they played the lobos in a close match. So we came out cold and lost the first game, i knew we would cause we were cold . i let every one knw that it wasn't over and behind ruskins big blocks and all of hitting we took it to them the next two games and finished strong and made it to the finals.. In the finals we played tribe.. Same thing happen we lost first game and won the next two. that was the hardest game for us cause we were all so tired and just wanted to go home.. when we walked in the door we were the underdog and when we left we were the tournament chapions.. i have video on it ill post that soon as cam finalizes the dvds ..

Hey every one after a long and sore weekend of grass i be glad to hit the beach and play some volleyball. Bad Ass grass was a fun tourny and my ankle held up for the weekend but me not playing in three weeks showed later in the day and my partner had to carry me. We have the 13th annual Bad Ass Grass. Its one of the last tournaments of the season and its a great tournament. Last years winners (Matt and ricardo ) will not be playing together. I'm hoping to finish better then i did last year (2nd). So far we have double digit teams in all divisions. The Arvc rebels finals

Well this weekend looks like the end of a great series. There looks like alot of great teams playing at batan park. If u want to sign up theres a link to the right were it say arvc rebels finals. We have Loric box coming to play grass witch will shake some things up. You got the points leader and winner (desi) playing with secret agent cornwell. Ever one batteling for second for points. Ill be playing with one of my fantastic four members (batwood) . On the womans side it looks like theres even more comp. then the mens. So Sat we have same sex and Sud we have co-ed . Well i hope to see you all out there and have a great weeken.

So it was weekend filled with tough teams and great matches. Desi won in overall points on saturday with his second place finish with larry.. adam and loric took first and mike and pato took third.. All the matches were tight and had a good size crowed. On sunday was another day full of good teams. we had dave and maddy taking first and ricardo and vanessa taking second. they had a battle in the final it went three games.. Eve and me took third. The womans points leader was maria. congrads to the to points winner for the 3 straight time

Toas solar spike

Well This weekend alot of albuquerque teams are heading up to toas to play in the solar spike. Last year i had a great time playing up there. There were alot of grass teams and not to many sand teams. Hoping this year is different and we get alot of teams from colorado.

Well after along weekend of playing and a long drive back im glad to be home. Well the tournament ran long on saturday the final ended at like 7:30 . Everyone one was so tired by like 4. We had some solid teams out there but there were only 8 open teams witch isnt very much. Ryan Post and Loric Box was the team to beat. They played Matt and Adam in the finals , with post and loric winning . On the womans side there were four open teams with alex and maria beating out a colorado team in the finals. As for the grass u had michelle and tanna winning the grass. In the guys u had ricardo and doug beating out Mike and derrick in the final. On sunday we played co-ed and had desi and maria taking it in two against adam and patty in the final.. We need to get some more teams out there next year and push for a bigger tournament.

JCC

So after a perfect day in the sand we had the JCC grass tournament, M/W/J. It was great day and there was a lot of great playing. There were 13 mens teams and i think 12 womens teams. The tournament was held by fred and was at the jcc. After pool play we split into upper and lower. With 6 guys going upper and & going lower, same with the girls.. In mens upper we had dave and brad taking first and myself and larry taking 2nd, mike and derrick finishing off third... In mens lower we had jake and lars vs lee and jav.. In womans upper we had Maria and tanna finishing first and kathy/alana finishing 2. every body fought hard all day play tough. This weekend we all be in taos for the solar spike.. hope to see u guys up there

Sneaker'z Series #4

After a long dreadful weekend on the hard surface know as grass its time to take it back to the sand. The grass can tear you body, so now we can rub some dirt on it.The last sneaker'z series was a battle going down to game three in the final. It consist of me and Adam Rubel vs Matt the rex and Adam C. It was a fun game but in the end The rex and adam just had more steam then we did. It was fun playing with Adam Rubel, it was a learning experience on its own. We had alot of solid teams and got done by 6:30 pm. In the points lead is adam and matt with 8 Points. So this weeken looks like this so far ..Sneakerz Series #4

We had a strong turn out on sat day with 11 teams and played till bout6:30 P.M. A lot of new faces and strong teams. We had matt the rex and adam c wining the whole thing with chris and loric taking second.. me and daniel foo finished third. Every game was a battle and was a lot of fun.

SO this weekend looks like anther great series hosted by Fred there some power house teams. Everyone is playing with a new partner this week. You Have Desi and Adam C , Larry and Ruskin and Me and Ricardo. This weekend could very well decide who will stand alone in second in the hunt for Desi. If Desi can win both days this weekend he could very well put a lock one the Series points and win anther season of grass volleyball in Albuquerque. Ive Played Ruskin and Larry before in a final and lost to them in two games. I've played with Ricardo earlier this year and took third, but it was a windy day so we don't know how well we will do together. Sunday Is a co-ed reverse tournament. Don't get me wrong but i hate co-ed reverse its so hard for me to stay focused. Ive never have won a coed reverse.Desi will be playing with Maria and i cant remember the last time i have seen them get beat. Me and my Partner Evelena have never Played Desi and Maria.We hope to Knock them off there thrown and steal series 4 from them. So other good team in this weekend for reverse co-ed are Matty and Larry and Davina and Adam C.

There were lots of great playing and fun times this weekend. Alot of solid teams showed up and mixed it up. We got rain on both days but through it all we finished and this how it came out in the end..

Arvc Rebels series #3

A grass tournament hosted by Fred Ader witch will hosted at Manzano Mesa Park South.
Fred has hosted this tournament since i started playing volleyball last year. This year there's a lot more new faces then last year. In the series #3 there were a lot great teams in both men and women. Me and Adam C played Desi and Larry in the final . It was a great final and it took all three games and a win by two to settle it but in the end we fell one play to short. There a great grass team and the experience out did our athleticism. The team we beat to get there was a great team( Ricardo/Doug). They ended up taking 3rd overall.. On the woman's side we had Christy and Jodie vs a tough Maria and Alex. Maria and Alex lost there first game of bracket play and had to fight through every team to play Christy and Jodie. Maria and Alex took the first two games and when it came down to the one if game Christy and Jodie kick it in to gear and won the if game. It was a good game. Desi has won the overall series for the last few year and is leading the field in points with me,Larry and Adam c tied for 2nd behind him. As for the women i don't know were they stand in point Fred had no up dated the points yet..
